Alcon has announced expanded parameters for TOTAL30 for Astigmatism, which is now available in a -2.75D cylinder offering. The contact lens is the first and only monthly replacement water gradient toric, according to a news release. The new parameters have been available since October 1, 2024.1

“From varying vision correction requirements to replacement schedule preferences, we are innovating to meet the diverse needs of today’s patients,” said Max Wolf, general manager and head of Vision Care and Contact Lenses at Alcon, in the release. “Because astigmatic patients disproportionately suffer from dryness and discomfort,2 the need for outstanding comfort and moisturization in a lens is paramount. With the release of extended parameters for TOTAL30 for Astigmatism in the US, we are delivering an exceptional offering from the TOTAL30 portfolio that fulfils those needs, allowing eye care professionals to reach more patients.

For the TOTAL30 lens family, the PRECISION BALANCE 8|4 lens design provides on-eye stability with a 95% first lens fit success rate. Additionally, the lenses feature Class 1 UV blocking against UVA and UVB rays, with blue-violet light filtration.1

“Patients with expanded parameters deserve innovation just like any other reusable lens wearer,” said Jessilin Quint, OD, MBA, MS, FAAO. “Previously, these patients had very few options and were forced to compromise on comfort, which is why I’m thrilled by this latest innovation from Alcon.
