American Academy of Optometry announces 2021 Korb-Exford Dry Eye Career Development Grant recipient

The American Academy of Optometry (AAO) is pleased to announce that Jillian F. Ziemanski, OD, PhD, FAAO is the recipient of the 2021 Korb-Exford Dry Eye Career Development Grant.

Her proposal, Cytokine Priming of the Complement System at the Ocular Surface: Application to Primary Sjögren’s Syndrome, was selected for a $25,000 grant to support her research on how to improve care and outcomes for individuals with dry eye disease. The pool of submissions was very competitive.

Dr. Ziemanski is an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry, Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences.
