American Academy of Optometry announces 2021 recipient of the Beta Kappa Research Fellowship

The American Academy of Optometry Foundation (AAOF) and Beta Sigma Kappa (BSK) International Honor Society are pleased to announce that Kevin Willeford, OD, MS, PhD, FAAO has been selected as the recipient of the Beta Kappa Research Fellowship, established in 1925.

Dr. Willeford is an associate professor at Nova Southeastern University's College of Optometry.

The goal of this fellowship is to support early career optometric research. This year, it will be used to support a project Dr. Willeford is working on that examines the question “Do non-strabismic individuals use slow fusional vergence to stabilize binocular alignment across gaze positions?”

Beta Sigma Kappa has student chapters in every college and school of optometry in the US and works with them to develop academic excellence programs.
