The Brien Holden Vision Institute (BHVI) has announced the 2022 Myopia Awareness Week for May 23 through May 28.

Launched as a worldwide initiative in 2021, the awareness event was created to bring attention to the increasing number of myopia cases in children.

Included in this year’s week-long event are a range of educational resources for eye care practitioners (ECPs), parents, and advocates of myopia awareness provided by BHVI, with special focus on “Make your Eye Moves” geared toward encouraging engagement in activities that promote eye health and reduce the risk of myopia, the organization stated.

Social media content and prominent individuals within the global eye care field will also provide tips and recommendations for parents and children to reduce the risk of onset or progression of myopia.

Additional resources and information on the campaign can be found here.
