Mixed reality retail technology company PlanetVA has announced an update made to its Virtual Try-On (VTO) suite, including hybrid solutions combining real-time interaction with video review, according to a news release.1

“With these new enhancements, we are not only elevating the digital try-on experience but also addressing the evolving needs of modern consumers,” said Ludwig Heymbeeck, founder of PlanetVA, in the release. “Our hybrid approach bridges the gap between real-time interaction and flexible, user-controlled experiences, ensuring that every customer finds the perfect pair of eyewear with ease and confidence.”

Now, the VTO platform features 3 different offerings, 2 which are new and 1 which has been updated. VTO LIVE+VIDEO, a new addition, is the hybrid solution that integrates real-time try-ons with the ability to record and review video sessions. This allows customers to revisit choices at their convenience while enjoying the try-on experience, according to the release. The updated version of VTO LIVE includes an enhanced in-browser experience that allows customers to try on frames in real time. Processing is conducted locally on the patient’s device while still allowing for data privacy and security. As for the new VTO VIDEO feature, customers can record videos of themselves while trying on eyewear, which allows for accuracy and personalization.1

VTOs also allow for customers to select different lens options including anti-reflective coatings, lens colors, photochromic lenses, and sun lenses, and can recommend frames suitable to face type and shape.2
